Online Learning - Pace Yourself for Success

online-learning_1263308130908.pngMake no mistake, studying is a job; and like every  job in life, it's easy to get burned out.  Burnout occurs when there are too many things coming at you from what seems like every direction.

The challenge of taking classes online can create a great deal of stress when it comes time  for tests and finals.  To avoid burnout, here are a few things you can do to prepare for those tough times:

Learn to Pace Yourself

Never try and do everything all at once.  Take breaks and plan them for every two- hours of study.  Leave the room or go for a walk.  Taking that break allows your head to clear so that you can get back into your original rhythm.  It's advisable to eat something every four hours as well.

Start Studying Early

Waiting until the last minute is a bad habit to develop.  Some students will even start studying for their finals about two weeks into a new semester. It's also a good thing to study with someone who's dedicated and disciplined. This allows you to access their notes and materials, which can help to complement your own.

Be Realistic in Your Expectations

If you're doing poorly in a subject, it may be impossible to raise your grade significantly. So, continue to study for the best grade you think you can get and place a little more effort into other subjects if you have more than one class on your plate.

Taking classes online requires the same discipline required to take courses in a traditional classroom. At Everest University Online, a division of Everest University, we believe that with the right planning you can be successful in all that you do in life.

What Our Faculty Says…
